U2M - Berkley Py

Green and purple grapes from Marcia's former house on Berkley St. Picked, pressed and frozen in September 2009. When bottled it was sweet with good grape flavor. Melomel / Pyment


Yeast was prestarted with honey and agave nectar.

December 29, 2010 - Started heating honey and water in the kettle. Added grape juice and the must chiller. Heated to 170 and kept hot for 20 minutes. Cooled and poured into a carboy. Added water to make 5 gallons. Pitched yeast. Stirred and stored with a blow off tube.

Blow-off tube swapped for bubble-lock on February 3, 2011.

March 4, 2011 - Racked.

June 17, 2011 - Bottled.
